“Thank God for His Mercies”
(Psalm 136:1-9, GW) “Give thanks to the LORD because he is good, because his mercy endures forever. (2) Give thanks to the God of gods because his mercy endures forever. (3) Give thanks to the Lord of lords because his mercy endures forever. (4)Give thanks to the only one who does miraculous things- because his mercy endures forever. (5) to the one who made the heavens by his understanding- because his mercy endures forever. (6) to the one who spread out the earth on the water- because his mercy endures forever. (7) to the one who made the great lights- because his mercy endures forever. (8) the sun to rule the day- because his mercy endures forever. (9) the moon and stars to rule the night- because his mercy endures forever.”
This is a song of praise and thanksgiving to the God of creation. We thank the Lord because He is good and because His mercies will go on forever. Today, we can expect the God of creation to direct our lives like He directs the Universe. As God sets everything in perfection in the heavens, so shall He do in our lives. We just need to submit to the Lord our God, and allow Him to guide us. (Proverbs 3:6, BBE) “In all your ways give ear to him (God), and he will make straight your footsteps.” In our prayers we are accustomed to do all the taking. What we need to do sometimes is to listen and allow God to talk to us.
Because God’s mercies will go on from one generation to another, we can expect to see miracles like we read in the Bible. So, as we place our trust in the Lord and give ear to Him, He will protect us, guide us, heal us, and provide for us, as He has been doing for many generations. God has enough mercies to last for eternity.
Today let these verses become our praise. This is a good way to increase our prayer life and learn how to be more thankful to the Lord.
